ON FINDING A PLACE TO STAY

This one can be challenging, as I know that having a safe, comfortable, and clean space is incredibly important when taking on such an adventure. That being said, know that you are not alone, and I plan on helping you every step of the way (if that's what you're looking for)! 

So first, maybe take a look at the list of Airbnb places there were put together. If they're not working for you, we can look at other options (chloe@morethanlyme.org). 

Also, reaching out to those who are also traveling and needing a place to stay (this can be done in our Facebook Group) and maybe see if they'd like to go in on a place together to make it more affordable, is another option.

However, if you're still unsure about that, let me know and we will find something that works best for you. 

NOTE: Upon purchasing your ticket, I ask whether or not you're looking for a place to stay. If you mark yes, I will be reaching out to you to help come up with ideas - especially if you're traveling from out of the area! 

 

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH? SUCH AS A FRIEND, PARTNER, OR FAMILY MEMBER...

Yes, absolutely, please feel welcome to bring whomever you're most comfortable with! The event will not only be focused on those with Lyme Disease, but those that support, motivate, advocate, and help care for you. Rather, your partners, family, friends - all are welcome, and I am certain that they will gain just as much from it as you will! 

And for those of you that are thinking of, or know that you will be bringing someone, once more of the itinerary is put together, you will be able to see what kind of activities you'd both want to partake in, while others maybe opt out of. 

It also should be noted that though both will be required to purchase tickets, there will be a 50 dollar off promo code (it's, WITHGUEST) at checkout to be used when purchasing two tickets (for you and your guest). 

 

WHAT WILL THE TWO DAYS LOOK LIKE? WILL IT BE A SAFE SPACE WHERE EVERYONE IS WELCOME?

I will be putting together an itinerary of sorts, that will give you more of the specifics of time, for arrival, activities, who will be leading those activities, meal times - and so forth. This will be something that you can print out and bring with (available for viewing or download within the coming weeks). 

It is a top priority of ours to make sure the event space is clean (using only natural products to do so), arranged in a way that allows you to either walk around or pick a cozy corner and rest, and a safe area for all. 

If you have any concerns about this, please do reach out. We want to make sure that everyone feels supported in their decision to come - and oh my goodness we would love to have you join! 

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM IT? WILL THERE BE TIME TO REST?

During the event, our hope is that you will feel supported, safe, inspired, and given just the right amount of room to form new, lasting relationships with the people standing next to you, while feeling creatively empowered by the activities and conversations had. 

After the event, our hope is that you will continue to feel all of these things AND MORE.

And if you're not feeling an activity, or simply need a breather, not a problem. You are always more than welcome to opt out, resting as much or as little as you need. 

 

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES THERE MIGHT BE? AS WELL AS MEALS AND CONTRIBUTORS? 

There will be a few (and very exciting) guest speakers, in a setting where all are welcome to either submit questions that they have beforehand (never obliged to participate - observing is more than ok) or asked directly in this group like setting. 

+ A meditation, led by a very talented in-community, chef, artist, and all around incredible human. 

+ Another very talented in-community artist will be leading an activity involving clay, and other wonderful things...

+ Polaroid cameras and an endless amount of film will be available for you to use to document your time! More on such things as this will be included in the itinerary. 

+ There will be a "Tea Bar" filled with local, delicious, and food-restriction friendly treats! Available throughout the entire event. 

+ We will have carefully crafted meals (Saturday dinner + Sunday Brunch) that will be catered to ALL.

 

Can you tell us more about the fundraiser you're doing + Why?

Since the beginning of this whole event idea, we were certain that we wanted to not just give a portion of our ticket sales to the Global Lyme Alliance, but have the option to donate on the event's behalf. 

That way, for those of you that cannot make it, you can still be part of the cause and the many reasons why we are putting on such an event...

To further awareness, education, research, and availability of treatment for this disease.

Take note 

+ The names of said incredible humans leading activities + speaking, and more, will be included in the itinerary, so stay tuned! 

+ There will even be local products and goods that you'll be able to take home with you. All created by those within the community, or in the Oregon area. One might call these gift bags!
